Pontos: 88.
Degustador: Jay Miller.
Maturidade: Beber entre 2009 e 2017.

Review:

Luigi Bosca's 2007 Malbec Reserva spent 12 months in a mix of new and used French oak. Deep crimson-colored, it has an attractive nose of cedar, spice box, lavender, and black cherry. Supple, ripe and sweetly-fruited on the palate, this medium-bodied, balanced wine will provide pleasure over the next 8 years.

Pontos: 88.
Degustador: Mark Squires.
Maturidade: Beber entre 2010 e 2016.

Review:

The 2007 DUAS QUINTAS (DQ) ADRIANO RAMOS PINTO is a blend taken from the winery’s Quinta dos Bon Ares and Quinta de Ervamoira vineyards, composed of Touriga Franca (40%), Tinta Roriz (40%) and Touriga Nacional (20%). This is certainly one of the best “regular” Tintos from Ramos Pinto that I’ve had. Elegant and focused, it has enough tannin to provide some intensity and support for the fruit, and it has impeccable balance, pleasing flavors and a nice finish relative to its modest price. Admittedly, it lacks much depth—so drink this in the nearer term, when it will show its best—but it does show surprisingly good structure for its price category, together with clean, pristine fruit. Drink now-2016.

Ramos Pinto, always known for its art, displayed some new graphics and branding this year. The first novelty is the “Collection” line with its fancy new artwork. This is a mid-priced entrant between the Duas Quintas Reserva and the regular DQ, but not yet imported. Also, the former Adriano line has been rebranded here to reflect how it is sold in Portugal—as the Duas Quintas non-reserve.

Pontos: 89.
Degustador: Jay Miller.
Maturidade: Beber entre 2010 e 2015.

Review:

The 2005 Broquel Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 15 months in new French and American oak. It is a deep garnet color with a nose of toasty oak, tobacco, pencil lead, and black currant. This leads to a medium-bodied, structured wine with ample sweet fruit, layers of flavor, and a lengthy finish. It will develop for 2-3 years and provide pleasure through 2015.

Broquel is the winery’s mid-range series. Each of them is an excellent value.

Trapiche is best known for its value-priced wines, a number of which are listed at the end of this report in the Best Buy charts. However, the mid-range and upper end of the Trapiche portfolio offer some super wines that should not be missed.

Pontos: 93+.
Degustador: Jay Miller.
Maturidade: N/A.

Review:

The 2004 Muga Reserva is dark ruby-colored with an enticing nose of pain grille, pencil lead, crushed stone, and blackberry. This leads to an elegant wine with layers of flavor, several years of aging potential, and a lengthy finish.

Os vinhos abaixo ainda não possuem análises na Wine Advocate:
