Review
The 2006 Golden Reserve Malbec was aged for 12 months in 60% new oak. Dark ruby-colored, it has an alluring bouquet of wood smoke, spice box, leather, and black cherry. Elegant on the palate, it has layers of spicy blue and black fruit, ripe tannin, good balance, and enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years. Drink this pleasurable effort through 2016.

Review
The 2007 Septimo Dia Cabernet Sauvignon also spent 10 months in seasoned French and American oak. Dark ruby-colored, it has an engaging bouquet of cedar, spice box, earth notes, black currant and blackberry. Medium- to full-bodied and round on the palate, this spicy, layered wine has good depth and enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years. Drink it from 2011 to 2017.
