The 2006 Special Blend is made up of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Malbec, and 20% Merlot aged in new French oak for 15 months. Purple-colored, it displays a perfume of pain grille, pencil lead, cinnamon, vanilla, black currant, and blackberry. Intense, concentrated, and medium- to full-bodied, it has layers of black fruit, good depth, and enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years. Drink it from 2011 to 2018.

Review
The 2007 Septima Gran Reserva is a blend of 55% Malbec, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 13% Tannat. It was aged in new French and American oak for 12 months. The Malbec component was sourced from a pair of vineyards planted in 1914 and 1954. It offers up a complex aromatic array of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, black cherry, and blackberry. Surprisingly elegant on the palate, it has a plush palate feel, some layering, ripe, savory flavors, and plenty of length. Drink this outstanding effort between 2010 and 2018.

Review
The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva also spent 9 months in French and American oak. It is crimson-colored with an attractive nose of cedar, cinnamon, tobacco, black currant, and blackberry. Medium-bodied and smooth-textured, this layered, lengthy effort can be enjoyed now and over the next 5 years.
